It uses the Tape & Reel (TR) package in order to optimize the performance of this voltage regulator. There are two types of analog ICs in this voltage regulator 12v: SWITCHING REGULATOR ICs, which are the ones used in older voltage regulator 12vs. Space-saving SOT-23-6 packages are available for this harley voltage regulator.
