To protect the photodiodes, they are packed in the Bulk. In order to ensure safety, the photodiodes are packaged in TO-5 Variant, 4 Leads, Lens Top Metal Can packages. As long as the photodiodes are operated continuously in reverse-bias mode, the maximum voltage they can tolerate is 50V.
