TLC59116IPWR Description


The TLC59116IPWR driver is a 28 pin TSSOP 16bit fast mode plus (FM+) I2C bus constant current LED sink driver. It is designed for red/green/blue/amber (RGBA) colour mixing and backlighting. Each LED output has its own 8bit resolution (256 steps) fixed frequency individual PWM controller that operates at 97KHz with a duty cycle that can be adjusted from 0% to 99.6%.

  • 1MHz fast mode plus (FMT) compatible I2C bus interface with 30mA high drive capability

  • Internal power-on reset, no glitch on power-up

  • Noise filter on SCL and SDA inputs

  • Open load and overtemperature detection mode to detect individual LED errors

  • Operating temperature range -40°C to 85°C

  • Constant output current ranges from 5mA to 120mA

  • The maximum output voltage of 17V

  • 16 constant current output channels

  • 3.3V or 5V supply voltage

  • Four hardware address pins allow 14 TLC59116 devices to be connected to the same I2C bus
